Jack Pyle, Jr was born at Fairfield, CA on April 2nd, 1931. He was the eldest of five children born to Martha and Jack Pyle, Sr. His early years were filled with constant travel, as his father worked in construction. At age 17, (Yes, he lied about his age!) Jack joined the Air Force and was stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, OK. There he met Donna Huffman, his future wife and best friend of over 73 years. They were married on March 20th, 1950 and blessed with 3 sons, Don, Ron and Jack. Jack's family meant everything to him.
The military provided him the opportunity to travel. He was stationed at many bases in the States & Abroad including Bermuda and Germany. After 20 years of serving his country, Jack commenced his second career with Columbia Helicopters in Portland, OR. Jack rose from an aircraft mechanic to Vice President and Director of Maintenance. He received many awards and earned the respect of the aviation community for a job well done. Jack retired in 1994 and he and Donna made a new home in Vancouver, WA.
Jack passed away at the age of 92, on August 21st, 2023 at PeaceHealth Hospital in Vancouver, WA. The day of his passing, he was surrounded by family. He was alert and was able to express his love to each family member. It was a remarkable day, which he filled with laughter & joy.
Jack is survived by his loving family; wife Donna, sons Don (Karen), Ron (Linda) and Jack (Ellen); grandchildren, Sara (Jeff), Jon (Amber), Jack Christopher (Kirstan) and Andy (Elizabeth) and great grandchildren Lily, Evan, Henry, Bailey, Byron, Chloe, Callie, Amadi, Georgia, Cooper; brothers, Ken Pyle & Bruce Denney and his many nieces, nephews & cousins.
