Jack Reed Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Directors - Midland Chapel on Jan. 16, 2026.
Jack Allen Reed Age 52 July 23, 1973 - January 13, 2026
Jack Allen Reed passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2026, leaving behind a love so deep and a presence so strong that his absence has forever changed the hearts of those who knew him. Jack was the devoted and loving husband of his beautiful wife, Stacy and their two dogs that were like their children, Jake and Legend. They were high school sweethearts whose love story spanned an incredible 35 years together, including 24 years of marriage, celebrated just weeks earlier on December 6, 2025. Their bond was one of true partnership, friendship, and unwavering love a love that many admired and aspired to have. Jack cherished time spent traveling with his family, especially to the places that brought him the most joy: Walt Disney World, Mackinaw City, and Mackinac Island. These trips were filled with laughter, memories, and moments that will be treasured forever.
In recent years, Jack proudly became a "Grill Master," perfecting his craft with his meat smoker and delighting family and friends with meals made from the heart. Professionally, Jack was a dedicated electrician and was currently employed with General Motors, where his strong work ethic and reliability were deeply valued. Jack was the kind of person who would drop everything to help someone in need. He never hesitated to lend a hand, offer support, or simply be there because that's who he was.
Jack graduated from Millington High School in 1991 and was a member of the 1989 football team that started the current 36-year winning season record. He attended Ferris State University. Jack shared a lifelong, irreplaceable friendship with his best friend, Guy. Their bond was filled with countless good times, laughter, and memories that will live on forever. Jack was also a proud and passionate Florida State University fan always cheering loudly and proudly, "Go NOLES!"
To Jack, family meant everything. He loved fiercely and completely his wife, family, friends, and every person who crossed his path. He was loved beyond measure, and he returned that love freely and generously. Jack's smile could light up a room, and his laughter was unforgettable.
His passing has broken our hearts and left a hole in our lives that can never be filled. Though our hearts ache, we are grateful for every moment, every memory, and every bit of love he gave us. Jack Allen Reed will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, his devotion to family, and the love he gave so selflessly. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents Edward H Reed and Gail M (Allen) Reed and step-mother Nanette A (Naber) Reed, grandparents John and Marie (Metras) Allen of Florida (formally of Millington), grandparents Harold and Thema (Tuck) Reed of Millington. Jack leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Stacy (Laude), two "furry" sons, Jake Warren
Reed and Legend Jasper Reed, one brother, Edward & Vicki Reed of Millington. Father & Mother-in-law Thomas and Diane Laude of Millington, Sister-in-law Shannon (Laude) & Troy Bonadurer of Millington. Brother-in-law Mathew Laude of Fenton. Special friend and Uncle Scott Reed of Millington, 3 nephews, Bryan Bonadurer, Bradley Bonadurer, Noah Laude, 4 nieces, Jordan (Reed) and Emilio Ramirez, Taylor (Reed) and Luke Tait, Natalie Laude, Rylyn Roth, 3 great-nephews, Chase, Kai, Elisio, 2 great-nieces, Emilia, Violet, Best Friend Guy Thayer of Levering, Michigan, and many special aunts, uncles, in-law relatives, cousins, and friends.
According to Jack's wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, Jack's wishes were to request donations to "Millington Community Schools Football Program." Those donations may be sent directly to Millington Community Schools, 8664 Dean Drive, Millington, MI 48746.
