Jack Richardson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Affinity All Faiths Mortuary - Wichita on Feb. 12, 2026.
Jack Lewis Richardson Jr., a cherished pillar of the Wichita community, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, at the age of 77, in the same city where he was born, Wichita, Kansas. Born to a loving family on October 20, 1948, Jack's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, laughter, and dedication. Jack's journey through life was marked by a profound love for his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Kathy (Grieve) Richardson, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. Though predeceased by his son, Troy Richardson, Jack's legacy continues through his grandchildren, Bret Richardson and his wife Kayla, Rachel Richardson, and his adored great-grandchildren, Theo Richardson, Asher Bitler, and Melia, Elise, and Anily. Each of them was a sparkling jewel in the crown of his life, bringing him immeasurable joy and pride.

Despite leaving formal education after the 9th grade, Jack's innate intelligence shone brightly in every endeavor he undertook. His sharp wit and wisdom were evident to all who knew him. Jack's career as a carpenter was marked by his exceptional skill and dedication to his craft. He built houses with a level of care and precision that made each one a home, leaving a lasting impact on the Wichita skyline and the hearts of those who dwell within. Jack's work ethic was unparalleled, yet he always maintained a balance in life, ensuring that his family was at the center of his world. His sense of humor was legendary; he had a knack for finding humor in the everyday and could light up a room with his laughter. His interests were simple yet profound: he was a man who valued hard work, cherished his family, and never missed an opportunity to crack a joke. To know Jack was to know love in its purest form. He was a loving husband, a nurturing grandfather, a doting great-grandfather, and a friend to all. His intelligence was not just in his mind but in his ability to connect with others. Jack's presence was a source of comfort and joy to those around him, and his absence will be deeply felt. Jack Richardson Jr. was the embodiment of a life well-lived. He was a beacon of love and laughter, whose legacy of intelligence, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we celebrate a life that, though no longer with us in body, will forever be felt in the many lives he touched. Jack's memory will be cherished, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends for generations to come. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday February 17, 2026, at Affinity All Faith Mortuary, 2850 S Seneca, Wichita, Kansas 67217. Burial will follow at Mulvane Cemetery, E 119th St S Mulvane, Kansas 67110.
