Jack D. Stearns, age 72, of Bradner, Ohio passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the ProMedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on July 10, 1952, in Fremont, Ohio to the late Delmon F. & Esther (Ernst) Stearns. Jack married Catherine Brewer on December 12, 1987, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue.
Surviving Jack is his loving wife of 36 years, Catherine; furry companions, Onyx and his favorite, Prudence; brother, Judd (Nancy) Stearns; sister, Judy (Tom) Snyder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delmon & Esther, and furry companions, Isaiah, Maxine, Lucy, and Momo.
Jack was a 1971 graduate of Lakota High School, was a lifelong farmer, worked many years at Modine as a welder, and worked at Whirlpool for a short time. He was a former member of the Farm Bureau, and a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Bradner. Jack had a passion for farming, was a collector of toy trains, American Flyer Trains in particular, and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Football fan.
Services for Jack will be private. All arrangements have been entrusted to Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio. Memorial donations may be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society, Trips Public Transit in Fremont, or to the American Heart Association.
