Jack Yost

Grover Jackson Yost, known affectionately as Jack to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on November 22, 2024. Born on May 7, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, Jack grew up a spirit of courage and a heart full of kindness, traits that would define him throughout his life.
Jack's bravery was evident early on, as he served his country in the US Army with honor as a Vietnam Combat Veteran, completing two tours in Vietnam. His service to his nation stood as a testament to his selflessness and his unwavering commitment to the values he held dear. Following his military service, Jack worked at Bethlehem Steel and retired from Harford County Government where he served as President of MCEA.
A family man at his core, Jack's legacy is carried on by his beloved wife, Barbara, with whom he shared a life full of love and mutual respect for 55+ years. Together, they raised two daughters, Nicole and her husband Chad of Bel Air, MD, and Krystle and her husband Mike of Breckenridge, CO. Jack's happiness was multiplied with the birth of his granddaughter, Breanne, who was his pride and joy.
Jack had a love of miniature schnauzers that brought him immense joy. His dogs were a source of constant companionship and provided countless memories that his family will cherish forever.
In the words of Guy de Maupassant, "You've never lived until you've almost died. For those who fought for it, life has a flavor the protected shall never know." Jack lived by this belief, he will be remembered for his generous faithful spirit, his unwavering support of his loved ones, and a proud veteran.
As we gather to honor and remember Grover Jackson Yost, we do so with hearts of gratitude for the time we had with him. His life was a remarkable journey of service, love, and faith. We celebrate the time we were fortunate enough to share with him and his memory will continue to guide and inspire us. Jack will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
Rest in peace, Jack, Dad, Paw Paw. Your love and lessons will remain with us forever.
