Jackie Green, 77, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025. A devoted educator, loving mother, and cherished wife, Jackie leaves behind a legacy defined by compassion, wisdom, and unwavering love.
Born in Sylva, North Carolina to Lloyd and Carrie J. Norman, Jackie earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees in education from Western Carolina University. She dedicated more than thirty years to inspiring young minds in the Transylvania County school system, shaping countless lives through her commitment to teaching.
Jackie was the heart of her family. She and her beloved husband, Bobby Green, shared 53 wonderful years together, raising two children, Davey and Darrell. Motherhood was her greatest joy, and she embraced it with grace, warmth, and humor.
Beyond her family and career, Jackie found joy in gardening, cooking, and serving her community. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, volunteered, and sang in the choir.
Jackie is survived by her husband Bobby; her children Michael "Davey" (Margie) and Darrell (Sally); her grandchildren Tyler, Jackson, Tanner, and Hayes; siblings Roger (Kathy), Kathy, and Richard (Tracey); nieces Carrie (son Jay), Tess, Baxter, and nephew Andy (Jennifer and children Zeb, Silas, and Ellie). She is also fondly remembered by countless former students, colleagues, and friends.
Her life was a testament to the power of love, learning, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of Jackie's life will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church in Brevard; visitation at 2 pm and service at 3 pm.
