Jackie Hewitt Obituary
Jack was born on August 6, 1969, in Joliet, Illinois, to Jackie J. and Margaret A. (Leatherwood) Hewitt. He grew up in Malden, Illinois, a place that always remained close to his heart. Throughout his life, Jack traveled where work opportunities led him, experiencing many places and meeting many people, before eventually returning to his hometown area.
Jack lived a vibrant, full life, marked by his strength, resilience, and deep love for his family. His life was taken far too soon, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who loved him. As the family continues to process this tragic and sudden loss, they respectfully request privacy during this difficult time.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Margaret Hewitt; his brothers, Darryl Hewitt and Cary Hewitt; and his sister, Paula Hewitt.
He is survived by his beloved children: Courtney (Brian) Plique of Illinois, Caitlin Smith of Oklahoma, Charles Hewitt Byerley of Wisconsin, Corallynn (Austin) Byerley of Wisconsin, and Darryl Hewitt of Louisiana; 17 cherished grandchildren; his stepmother, Anita Gage Hewitt; his niece, Sara (John) Williams of Tennessee; his nephew, Keith (Maria) Pesavento of Illinois; and many dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date and time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Malden Cemetery Association.
