Jackie Lee “Jack” Heeter, of Leesburg, passed away peacefully in his home on Kuhn Lake on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on August 13, 1948, in Wabash, Indiana, he was the son of Harold and Gladys Heeter (Enyeart).

For over 30 years, Jack enjoyed his career as a truck driver. He was disabled after a tragic work accident which ended his career. Jack was proud to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Army, a testament to his character.

Jack's love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for fishing, boating, and hunting. He loved every moment spent on the lake, enjoying the company of family and friends. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Syracuse and a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster, where he built lasting friendships. Jack was known for his great sense of humor and his down-to-earth nature.

He is survived by his children, Angela Heeter of Fort Wayne, Sherrie (Mark) Hanna of Noblesville, Jack (Stacey) Heeter of Winona Lake, and John (Linda) Heeter of Leesburg; 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Stephen (Carol) Heeter of Nappanee, and his sister, Susan (Alan) Borneman of Fishers as well as many extended family members and friends.
