Jackie “Jack” L. Perry, 89, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Hospital. He was born March 31, 1936, in Westmoreland, Tennessee to Floyd and Aleen (Graves) Perry. He married Betty Clements on April 14, 1955. She preceded him in passing May 9, 2017.
Jack worked in the lumber service with Kramer Lumber in Burlington and then Frankfort for 40 years. He also served as a Reserve Deputy for the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed woodworking, turkey and deer hunting, listening to country music, watching old westerns, and spending time with friends at local eateries and donut shops. He loved his family and always looked forward to making memories and visiting with them. He will be remembered for his sweetness and kindness yet having the stubborn quality to balance him out. He would gladly give of himself to help anyone in need.
Jack is survived by his granddaughter, Jannica (Barry) Glover; great grandchildren, Aidan and Dahni Glover; sisters-in-law, Pat Perry, Nina Perry, and Mary Huffer; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his wife of 62 years, Jack was preceded in death by his parents; children, Debbie Young and Jeffrey Perry; and brothers, Arnold and J. D. Perry.
Visitation will be held, Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10am until the time of the service at 12pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Memorial contributions may be made in Jack’s honor to Clinton County Cancer. Messages of condolence may be left at www.dayandgenda.com.
