Funeral services for Jackie Ruth Moore Logan, 85, will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at Christian Center of Shreveport, 207 Idema St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until time of service. A private family graveside will immediately follow. Officiating the service will be Pastor Tim Carscadden and Reverend George Black.

Jackie was born in September 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana and passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana surrounded by her adoring family.

Jackie was the youngest of 4 born to Reverend Jack Thomas Moore and Mildred Lout Moore, founders of the Life Tabernacle Church as well as a local real estate developer. Jackie was also the devoted wife of 51 years to the Reverend Nolan A. Logan, former Pastor of Life Tabernacle Church and founding Pastor of Christian Center of Shreveport and also the wonderful and caring mother to 5 children. Jackie spent her entire life in and around the ministry, and was dedicated to serving the needs of both her family and extended ministry family that stretched both far and wide.

At a very young age she began teaching herself to play the organ and piano, and her noted musical gifts were so profound she began as the full time organist in her father’s church at the age of 11. That led to a lifetime of serving her Lord with the amazing musical gift that she’d been given. After playing for most of her life in her father’s and then her husband’s churches, her husband retired as pastor. But she wasn’t done yet! At the request of an old friend, she began playing at Rose-Neath Funeral Home and was apart of that family for over 25 years as she shared her musical talents serving families who were grieving.

Jackie was known to many for her beauty and grace. But her outer beauty was not to be matched by her inner beauty and the incredible heart for people she possessed. Nearly everyone she’d ever known was aware of her amazing ability to not only remember you when she’d see you, but would also remember who your family was, and how your family intertwined with other families. It was quite extraordinary, but easy for her. Because it was the people that God placed on the path of this very humble servant, that made her tick.

She was so loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She would also be the first to remind us of how much of a better place she’s in today, and for eternity! Heaven became much richer on February 3, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Reverend Nolan A. Logan; siblings, Samuel Moore and wife, Coyth, Anna Jeanne Moore Price and husband, Don and David Moore and wife, Helen. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jonathan N. Logan and wife, Nobia, Andrea Logan Bell, Adam J. Logan and wife, Rhonda, Amy Hadden and husband, Harold Kendrick and Benjamin G. Logan and wife, Valeda and 12 grandchildren.

Honoring Jackie as pallbearers will be Bradley Bell, Christopher Bell, Noah Logan, Ethan Bell, Noah Miller and Seth Logan. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Carlos Spaht, Mr. H. Wayne Wilson and Mr. Wayne Moore.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Christian Center of Shreveport, 207 Idema St., Shreveport, Louisiana 71106 or Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
