Jackie Dean Vanover

JACKIE DEAN VANOVER, 63, of Maxie, VA, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2025, at his home following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Homer Vanover and Dorothy (Harrison) Stiltner. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was of the Christian faith. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and was a disabled coal miner and handyman. Jackie enjoyed the outdoors, weed eating, ginsenging and mushrooming, riding ATVs and spending time with his family and animals.
Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, James Dean Vanover of Maxie, VA, Mark (Rachel) White of Grundy, VA; Daughters: Natasha (Sammy) Mayhorn of Harman, VA, Ashlee Vanover of Cartersville, GA; Grandchildren: Savannah (Chris) Wingrove, Matthew Mayhorn (Paige Perkins), Gage Ball, Jordan Ball, Landon Sykes, London Sykes, Serenity White and Jaxon Edwards; Great-Granddaughter: Violet Mayhorn and one on the way; Brothers: Jerry Vanover, Terry Vanover and Steve (Cynthia) Harrison; Sister: Nancy McClanahan.
Also, survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 7:00 P.M. at the Harman Memorial Baptist Church with Dr. Shea Shrader officiating.
