Jackolin "Jackie" Iossi, a beloved resident of Centralia, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on Thursday, September 13, 1945, to John and Rosalea Davis, Jackie was a lifelong Centralia resident whose warmth and compassion left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered. Jackie married the love of her life, Dennis Iossi, in July 1975, and he survives her. Together, they built a beautiful family. Jackie is also survived by her devoted sons, Scott Iossi and Eric Iossi (Kim), both of Sioux Falls, SD; cherished daughters, Kathleen Velasco (Ronald) of Centralia and Kelly Castle of Tea, SD; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosalea Davis; her son, Jeffrey Gothro; and her sister, Rosanne Davis. Jackie dedicated her professional life to real estate, working with Don Geary Real Estate, where her integrity and dedication earned her the respect and trust of countless clients. A proud veteran, Jackie served in the Army, showcasing her patriotism and commitment to her country. Her life was defined by resilience and courage, having triumphed over cancer six times. She dedicated much of her energy to supporting others through her experiences, running three cancer support blogs that provided hope and encouragement to many. Jackie's passion for service extended beyond people; she was an avid animal lover and dedicated many years of volunteer work to the Humane Society, rescuing and caring for animals in need. Of the Lutheran faith, Jackie was a beacon of love and kindness within her family and community. She was known for her enthusiasm for puzzles, both jigsaw and traditional, and cherished the moments spent with her family. A graveside service to honor Jackie's life will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Centralia on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00 am. Arrangements are being handled by Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home Inc. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Jackie's honor to a charity of one's choice, reflecting her love and commitment to her family and community and will be accepted by the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street in Centralia, IL 62801 (618) 532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Iossi family. Online condolences may be made to the family by visiting www.sutherlandfuneralhome.com and the Funeral Home's Facebook page. Jackie Iossi will be remembered as a sweet, loving woman who cherished her family deeply and touched the hearts of many. Her legacy of love, resilience, and service will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.

I want to send my condolences to Denny and the entire family. I met Jackie on a breastcancer.org several years ago. We became great friends and emailed each other often. I was worried because she never responded to my last email and thanks to another breast cancer survivor I learned of her passing.

Jackie was an amazing woman and she loved her family. Her kindness and support touched more lives than you could ever know.

There is a saying when someone passes that the world should be a better place because that person lived. While we are sad for her passing, she absolutely made the world a better place!
I am going to miss you, dear friend.
