Jackson Robert Sebastian, 19, of Canal Winchester, passed away at his home on November 29, 2025.
Jackson was born in Edgewood, KY, on March 6, 2006. Surviving are his parents, Steven Wayne Sebastian and Meghan (Chris) Nelson; brothers Nicholas Steven Sebastian, Hunter Thorne Sebastian, and Wilson Duffy Sebastian; and his cousin, whom he considered another big brother, Nate Jeremy; grandmothers Frances Stephens Sebastian and Anne Duffy; uncles and aunts Darrell Edwin Sebastian, Michael Joseph Sebastian, Teresa (Frank) Hibbard, Dody Matthews, and Trent (Christine) Duffy; cousins Daniel Sebastian, Bradley Sebastian, Kimberly Sebastian, Whitney (Will) Wiard, Spencer (Sophia) Duke, Lauren Duffy, Wesley Duffy, and Griffin Duffy; and nephews Eden Sebastian and Zion Sebastian.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wayne Sebastian and Terry Duffy, and his uncle George Matthews.
Jackson, although the baby of the family and admittedly spoiled, was a great, strong, younger brother who was up for anything. Incredibly smart, Jackson graduated a year early from high school, confounding teachers with his knowledge of the Student Code of Ethics, which he used in defense of his antics. He was fun and funny, always laughing and getting others to laugh with him. He was an incredible listener and had a huge heart of love for people in pain, much like his Savior, Jesus, whom he loved dearly. He encouraged his friends and was a bright light to many.
God's created world, nature, outdoors - were so special to Jackson. He was an incredible skier, praised by his Uncle George for his skill, and medaled in racing - conquering his first "mountain", Mt. Mansfield in Mansfield, OH, at a young age. He also loved to hike, conquering Mt Washington, NH, and Mt Mansfield, VT with his dad and twin brothers Hunter and Wilson, as well as the CO 14er Quandary Peak with Nate (and called it the best day of his life). Jack felt especially close to God on mountains, claiming them places where the reality of Him is inescapable. Especially when he was younger, he loved sports, playing football and basketball, and watching/attending UK games with his family. Recently, he began writing and making music on his computer, trying to share hope to the hurting. He will never be forgotten; his love and kindness left such an indelible mark on so many.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 6 PM with visitation beginning at 4 PM at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester. Pastor Russ Moore will officiate. Burial will take place on Friday at Richmond Cemetery,
Richmond, KY, at 1 PM.
