Jake was a delightful young man who brought light wherever he went. My fondest memory is of him singing "The Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash on Karaoke at our home in Fairhope, Alabama. Eternal rest grant unto him Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
Amen.

I knew Jake from the time we were in middle school until we lost touch when I got rid of social media a few years ago. We affectionately called each other "Shorty" (he was SO tiny when we first met, and the name just kind of stuck over time). We would flirt constantly. He was so very charming, and while those gorgeous eyes of his were impossible to miss, it was his beautiful smile that first pulled me in.

He gave really great hugs whenever we would run into each other. He´ll be missed beyond measure. I am grateful to have known him.

Rest easy, Shorty!

Love, Jenny O.

This is something that I never thought I would be doing. If anything he would be writing about me. You see my husband Mike and I bought a house two houses down from his parents. That was probably about 1987. We lived there about five years before we sold and moved to Monclova. But I do have memories of each of them. Chad riding his bike across our lawn till I ask him not too. He was respectful and listen. Melissa or Missy was a sweetie and we sent her flowers on her birthday. Jacob was dramatic and a real cutie. They were a good family and a wonderful memory. The memories I will always have the piece of my heart I can never replace.

Jake was a good soldier and man. I am lucky to have served with him when we were both in the 3rd Infantry Division. RIP

I served with him from 2004 to 2008. Two deployment. He truly was one of the toughest, funniest and honest men I´ve ever known. A true fighter.

I did not know Jake, but I am a friend of a friend. My heart aches for your family and I say prayers for comfort at this time of morning. God Bless.
