Dwayne “Dewey” Norwalk, age 50, resident of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. He was born in Oregon, Ohio, on November 13, 1975, to Edward and Susan (Hansen) Norwalk.
Dewey completed his education at Genoa High School and Penta Career Center, eventually advancing his skills at Owens Community College, where he graduated from the Diesel Mechanics program. Dewey dedicated many years of his life as a truck driver for Dean Trucking.
Outside of his career, Dewey was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, dirt track racing, and had a special love for riding his motorcycle. Dewey was also known for his infectious personality, characterized by his gentle spirit and generous heart. He was affectionately regarded as a "gentle giant," someone who could always be relied upon for help or a warm hug.
Embodying his philosophy of giving back to those in need, he actively participated in poker runs and benefits, particularly for children, often going above and beyond to assist organizations like the Shriners Hospital. He would lend his culinary skills to cook for the events, including hosting pig roasts.
Dewey's memory will be cherished by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, fun, and pranks will resonate for years to come, reminding us all of the power of generosity and helping one another in times of need.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his dad, Edward Norwalk; siblings, Bryon (Tami) Norwalk, Annette (John) Manzardo, Christina (Daniel) Zunk, and Brandon (Ally) Norwalk; mother of his daughter and best friend, Megan Norwalk; daughter, Makenzie Norwalk; son, Sam (Norwalk) Scislowski; one granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends, all of whom Dewey loved.
