Matthew Scott Davis

Matthew Davis left this world quite suddenly at home on Monday evening, November 24, with his wife, Pam, by his side.

Matthew is survived by Pam (Mock), his cherished wife of 31 years; mother, Nancy Jo (Duvendack) Malone and her life partner, Lee Johns; much loved brothers, Mark (Cindy) Davis and Michael Davis; cousins, Bethany (Jeff) Criscione and Brian (Julie) Nichols; nephew, Noah Davis, as well as aunt, Mary (Davis) Baker and godfather, Roy Nichols. He is preceded in death by father, John Davis, and aunt and godmother, Jane (Duvendack) Nichols.

Matthew grew up in Toledo, Ohio, was baptized and confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church and graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School. He spent one year at Case Western Reserve where he was active in the Theta Chi fraternity and made life-long friends. He held degrees in Business, Library Science, and Engineering from Owens Community College, University of Toledo, University of Michigan, and Bowling Green State University.

He worked 13 years at General Mills in Toledo, first as a Cooker Operator and later Operations Manager. After receiving his degree at the University of Toledo, he transitioned to Matrix Technologies where, over 16 years, he was a programmer, consultant in Industrial Systems, and later Project Manager. He moved to The JDI Group in 2011 to head the Automation and Instrumentation Systems Department and in 2014 became a Principal Owner. While there he began doing contract work in control systems and project management for Potash Corporation in Lima, Ohio (now Nutrien). In 2024 he made the difficult decision to leave The JDI Group, and he accepted a position as Senior Process Controls Engineer at Nutrien, Lima.

His two great loves were his wife, Pam, and spending time in Northern Michigan, especially in the Glen Arbor and Traverse areas. They spent time hiking, especially on Alligator Hill and Sleeping Bear Dunes, boating, eating at their favorite restaurants, sampling at the many wineries and watching sunsets on Lake Michigan.

A Memorial Service will be held at Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home at 1460 West Wooster St., Bowling Green, OH, 43402 on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Noon, with visitation from 10am to Noon.
