Jacob Maples Obituary
Jacob was born May 3, 1975 in Knoxville to his beloved parents, Gregory Paul and Sylvia Jane Maples. His maternal grandparents were Ed and Evelyn Corbitt and his paternal grandparents were Paul T. and Lois Maples.
Jacob was employed as a sheet-metal worker and was a loving parent of two who had a deep love for family. He loved animals and nature and spent many happy childhood days exploring the woods near the family farm. Jacob was an intelligent and creative person known for his kindness and generous spirit, and will be deeply missed.
Surviving are daughters, Alexandra Carol Maples, 9, and Laura Rowan Maples, 8, and former wife, Tammy Finley; siblings, Nathaniel Kevin Maples, Martha Miranda Greene and Caroline Flowers Maples; niece, Cassandra Jane Maples and nephew, Caleb Nathaniel Maples; aunts, Susan Starkey, Jan Johnson, Bea Corbitt and Patty Corbitt; uncles, Eddie Corbitt and Perry Starkey; cousins, Justin Manis, Kelly Lay, Beth Corteylou, Amanda Starkey, David Corbitt, J.J. Corbitt and Steve Corbitt; brother-in-law, Rick Greene.
Memorial donations may be made to Angel Tree, P.O. Box 1550, Merrifield, VA 22116-1550.
Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service and interment.
The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway.
