Jacob Brian Mattheis, Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, July 12, 2025. Age 17 years. Son of Brian and Michelle (Krabill) Mattheis, Jacob was born July 3, 2008, in Saginaw, Michigan. He was in the Junior Class of Nouvel Catholic Central High School and attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Jacob was a Camp Counselor at Camp Lu Lay Lea in Lupton, Michigan. He enjoyed playing football, basketball and track at Nouvel Catholic Central High School. Jacob also enjoyed the outdoors and especially spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his parents, Brian and Michelle Mattheis, Saginaw; two sisters, Riley and Addison Mattheis; his grandparents, Steve and Irene Krabill, Edward and Jennifer Mattheis, Grandma Cathy Mattheis; his aunts and uncles, Ken Krabill, Ben Krabill, Frank and Tammi Mattheis, Lisa and Seth Vendelboe; and his cousins, Kennedy Krabill, Marie Krabill, and Kelsey Krabill; and his special girlfriend, Cora Wedding. Jacob was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Robert and Colleen Krabill, Frank and Mary Krawczak and Eleanor Czolgosz, and his aunt Stephanie Krabill.
Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Nouvel Catholic Central High School or Camp Lu Lay Lea in Lupton, Michigan.
