Jacob Mateo Perez

Jacob Mateo Perez was born on October 15, 2018 weighing in at 2lbs 15oz and was
born at 7 months in Oxnard,CA. Jacob spent the first three months of his life in the NICU at
Children's Hospital Los Angeles. He was diagnosed with some heart and premature
complications, but as far as we all knew Jacob had one the most enormous and purest hearts
we all had the privilege of experiencing. However this should not be taken as a sign of
weakness but as a demonstration of his raw strength in smiling through all the obstacles in his
way. An authentic trait that cannot be counterfeited, a way of life that personifies the true
character of what it means to be a fighter. Jacob has many aliases but the one he was most
known for was "The Hulk". Although you couldn't tell because of how much he loved to smile
and laugh. However he earned that nickname due to his incredible strength and God given
resilience to keep smashing all the doctors "final" results and analysis. Jacob continued to defy
all the odds time and time again. He was a fighter through and through just like those who
fought alongside him all the way until his passing on 02/25/2024 due to medical complications in
Santa Barbara,CA. We as an entire family would like to take this moment to give all those who
got to be a part of this journey a personal, heartfelt, and genuine thank you, for all your
continuous love, support, and prayers. May the Lord keep you, and watch over you now Jacob.
We will always remember your determination, strength, and will to fight to the very end. We love
you and will reflect in our times of trials to never give up and fight until the very end because
sometimes the battle we fight isn't for ourselves but because sometimes our fight gives strength,
courage, and hope to all those fighting their own battle. We will take all we learned from you and
continue to apply and remember the example you left, into our lives until we meet again, you
will not be forgotten. Jacob is survived by his parents Joel and Nereida Perez, big brother
Cristian Perez, Grandparents Arturo and Gloria Becerra, Grandmother Gregoria Morales
Vences and extended family.
