Jacob Allen Promenschenkel, passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2025, surrounded by his family's love. All pictures will be shown at the visitation. Born December 20, 2005, to Kurt and Amanda (Law) Promenschenkel, Jacob grew up with a rough-and-tumble spirit, a quick wit, and a heart as big as his smile. From the time he was little, he loved playing with farm toys and finding ways to make people laugh. He had an incredible sense of humor that never faded and a streak of independence that guided him through life. Jacob was a proud 2024 graduate of Milledgeville High School, where he played basketball for fun but football with fierce passion. Starting at just six years old, he never stopped loving the game, playing right guard on offense and defensive line with a toughness that made him unstoppable. Whether it was dislocating a finger and popping it back in mid-game or running onto the field with Romans 8:31 proudly written on his wristband, Jacob embodied grit, faith, and determination. Outside of sports, Jacob loved being with friends, going out to eat, playing video games (even mastering one-handed play after an amputation), building his own computer, and going shooting. He always said, "trust the process" and valued his independence -always facing challenges head-on, with quiet strength and zero complaints. Jacob was a protector by nature, always putting others first and making sure the people he loved didn't worry about him. His dream was to serve his country, and he proudly signed his contract with the Air National Guard, taking his first steps toward that goal before his illness was diagnosed. Above all, Jacob loved his family, especially his niece, Audrey, of whom he was an incredibly proud uncle. His last message to the world was one of love and gratitude for the outpouring of support he received-a reflection of the big heart he carried through life. Jacob will be dearly missed by his parents, Kurt and Amanda Promenschenkel of Chadwick; two brothers, Joey Promenschenkel of Mt. Carroll, and Jayden Promenschenkel of Chadwick; niece Audrey Promenschenkel of Mt. Carroll; grandparents, Cletes and Linda Promenschenkel of Mt. Carroll, Barb Sibley of Mt. Carroll, and Darryl Law of Mt. Carroll; great-grandmothers, Norma Robbe of Savanna and Eva Law of Mt. Carroll; aunts and uncles, Tessa (Dillion) Sibley, Allison (Josh) Sibley, Shelia (John) Looney, Kevin (Kathy) Promenschenkel, and Shelly (Karl) Tautz; cousin, Brycen Zickau; his cat, Buddy; and many more cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. He is preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Donald Law and Robert Robbe.
