Obituary
JACOB HOWARD STEVENS, age 13, of Greenfield, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Nationwide Children's Hospital. His death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born on September 17, 2009 in Fayette County to Justin Heath Stevens and Jamie Lynn Merritt. He was a student in the 8th grade at Greenfield McClain Middle School. "Jacob's parents described him as a well-mannered, funny, loving kid." He enjoyed listening to music, playing football, and hanging out with his friends.
Jacob was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Ilene Hudnall, Willard Trent, Howard and Margaret Stevens, and Larry and Sandy Seymour; uncle, Chad Merritt; and great-uncles, Ronnie Seymour, William Trent, Gary Stevens, and Don Stevens.
Survivors include his parents; his siblings, Mackenzie Bond, Jason Bond, Jr., Macey Bond, Hannah Stevens, and Adyson Calhoun; grandparents, Cheryl Merritt, Benjamin Merritt, and Gerald and Dianna Stevens; and his girlfriend, Makenzie Worthen. Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Snodgrass officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
