Jacob West Obituary
Jake was born May 23, 1937 in Lafayette, IN, to the late William and Ruth (Boyer) West. He worked for the City of West Lafayette for over 32 years.
On April 7, 1956 he married the love of his life, Janet Saylors in Lafayette, IN and she survives.
Jake enjoyed fishing, staying at his cabin on Raccoon Lake and staying on a houseboat. He was an avid Elvis and NASCAR fan especially, Jeff Gordon and Danica Patrick. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Along with his wife, Janet, he is survived by his children: Rickie (Ann) West and Cindy (Terry) Jones and daughter-in-law: Sharon West; four grandchildren: Shane (Valerie) Jones, Amy (Rich) Dick, Jana (Pete) Kim, and Melissa (Johnathan) Holley; seven great-grandchildren: Connor, Madison and Bella Dick, Allison and Ava Jones and Emerson and Addalyn Holley.
He is preceded in passing by his son: Bryan Douglas West and six siblings.
Visitation will be held from 11:30am – 12:30pm Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral service will begin at 12:30pm with his grandson Shane Jones officiating.
