Jacqueline DesVergnes Achin

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Jacqueline DesVergnes Achin, 99, of North Attleboro, Massachusetts, on November 16, 2024. Born on May 11, 1925, in Lowell, Vermont, Jacqueline will be fondly remembered for her cheerful and positive disposition, as well as her deep love for family, faith, and community.
Jacqueline attended Talbert Hubbard Secretarial School and worked as a secretary and accountant before dedicating herself to her cherished roles as a wife, mother, and homemaker. A cornerstone of her community, she was deeply involved in her faith, first as a parishioner at St. Joseph's Church in Attleboro and later at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
She found joy in reading, spending time with loved ones, and welcoming visitors with a warm smile and a hearty meal-whether they were hungry or not. Jacqueline delighted in the simple pleasures of life, greeting everyone with genuine hospitality and kindness.
Her faith was central to her life, and receiving the Eucharist brought her great comfort. She and her husband Roger shared a daily ritual of attending morning Mass followed by breakfast at Friendly's. When she could no longer attend Mass, she remained connected to her faith by having the Eucharist delivered to her home.
Jacqueline is survived by her children: Thomas Achin and his wife Jeanine of Rehoboth, MA; Mark Achin and his wife Colleen of Providence, RI; and Sandra Achin Oswald and her husband Kris of Rochester, NH. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, her siblings Brigitte and Donald, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger Achin; her parents, Yvonne and Joseph DesVergnes; and her brothers Rock, Louis, Roger, and Ernest.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Jacqueline's life will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs, Coyle Street, Seekonk, Massachusetts. A luncheon will follow at Spumoni's Restaurant, 1537 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, RI.
