Jacqueline Beck, age 92, passed away on March 9, 2025.
Jacqueline was born in Albany, New York to Walter James and Margaret Toomey. Jacqueline married Charles Beck, also of New York in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, New York in 1950.
She was preceded in death by her brother Walter James, her son Charles Beck, and son-in-law Chris Walker
A mass will be dedicated on April 10, 2025 at Saint Patrick's Church in Carlsbad, CA. A memorial service will be held on April 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Oceanside Mortuary in Oceanside, CA.
Jacqueline's donated to many charities including the Salvation Army, Doctor's Without Borders, National Public Radio, the Humane Society, and Alzheimer's Research, San Diego Rescue Mission, CHOC Foundation, and more.
Notable interests, activities, hobbies, or passions: After successfully raising six children Jacqueline returned to school, achieving her Associates degree in Library Sciences. She worked first for Alvord Unified School District and then found her happy place career at UCR's BioAgricultural Library. Jacqueline loved gardening and dabbled in writing and art, creating lovely watercolors of random subjects that struck her fancy. She is known by her children for giving words of wisdom and sage advice, which continue to provide valuable lifelong guidance. She was a fiercely principled and independent woman who was before her time. She loved her sisters, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She had a true appreciation of the wonders of nature and especially loved the ocean.
