Bay City, Michigan
Jackie passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at Brian's House in Essexville, age 75. She was born January 26, 1949, in Bay City to the late Ambrose W. and Rita (Hageman) DeWyse. She graduated from St. James High School. Jackie worked at Wolverine Knitting Mills for many years. She then worked a couple other jobs before ending her working years at 7-11 on Wilder Road, where she worked for Frank and Joanne Whalen for 30 years. Most recently, she would help her brother Jim sell produce at the farmer's market. She was a member of All Saints Parish-St. James Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #4102 Ladies Auxiliary. Jackie enjoyed watching sports, especially the Lions and the Detroit Tigers. She spent her free time baking special treats and crocheting blankets for her family and friends.
Jackie is survived by her siblings: Nancy Rosekrans, James DeWyse (special friend Bernice Gill), and Barbara (Jerome) Madajski, in-laws: Gary Oberdorf, Mary DeWyse, Sandra Fisher, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Jackie was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers: Madeline Oberdorf, Michael DeWyse, Joyce Igaz, and Andy DeWyse, brother-in-law Jack Rosekrans, sister-in-law Sherry DeWyse, nephew Kenneth DeWyse, and a special friend Mike.
Per Jackie's request, cremation will take place. A Funeral Service will occur Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Ambrose Funeral Home, 1200 Garfield Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. Fr. Dale Orlik will officiate. Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM.
