Jacqueline Ann Faber (Moerbeck), age 83, of Palos Park Illinois, passed away September 20. She was born on August 27, 1942, in Peoria Illinois to Neil and Patricia Moerbeck.
Jackie was in the first graduating class of Mother McAuley High School and went on to get her RN degree at Rosland Community Hospital School of Nursing. She then worked in surgery at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park for over 30 years where she met a handsome pharmacist, John (Jack) Faber, the love of her life and husband for nearly 61 years.
Jack and Jackie were married on October 17, 1964, and together, they built a beautiful life and raised five children. In 1996 Jackie decided to retire from nursing and start a business called Dino Jump involving the whole family and built it into one of the largest inflatable rental companies in the south suburbs of Chicago. Jackie was the face of the business and main reason for its success.
Jackie was an amazing, smart, funny, and kind person who always saw the best in everyone and taught her children and grandchildren to always treat people with kindness and respect no matter who they were. She had many friends because once you became friends with Jackie, you were a friend for life. To know Jackie truly was to love Jackie. She was a devout Catholic who volunteered her time as a greeter at Our Lady of the Woods church, as a eucharistic minister, and volunteer administering communion to the sick. She was also our neighborhood nurse and would happily bandage up a scrape or cut to one of the neighborhood kids, or even pierce someone's ears.
She loved music, traveling, and gardening around the house, including her sunflowers, which she also had painted everywhere in her kitchen! But her true joy was spending time with those she loved and cared for, especially her children and grandchildren. She was even in the delivery room for the birth of all her grandchildren. She was an awesome mom!
Jackie is survived by her beloved spouse, John Faber; ; children: John (Cindy), James (Michelina), Beth (Mark) Folsom, Patricia (Eddie) Faber-Duszynski, and Jeannie (Brian) Waeyaert; grandchildren: Melanie, Amanda. Jackie, Mary Kate, Lauren, Anna, Tristan, Gavin, Maeve, Scarlet, Bryce, and Quinn; Great-Grandchildren: Evalynn, Robert, James, and Lilith Jade; She is also survived by sister, Mary Ellen Evans and many nieces and nephews.
