Jacqueline (Jackie) Henry of Glen Ellyn, 92, born November 1932 and passed peacefully surrounded by her family August 11, 2025
Devoted wife of the late Robert G., mother of Peg (Jim) Duffy, of Ohio, Debbie (Arnie) Didier of Montana, Julie (Galen) Brownewell of Wisconsin, Bob of Illinois, Jenny (Carl) Lankenau of Illinois and Greg (Amy) of Illinois. Precious grandma of 13 and great grandma of 10. Cherished sister of Suzanne Trudeau of California. And many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Maire Heirens, and her sisters, Mary Jo, Carol and Vicki.
In addition to raising six children, she found time to work outside the home: Shonkwiler Real Estate, Legislative Assistant to state senator, George Ray Hudson, Administrative Assistant to Illinois State Representative Carol Pankau, and Office Manager for Henry's Landscaping Services.
Jackie's life was well lived in service to all. She felt God directing her into many ministries. She founded Illinois Citizens for Life and the Care and Counseling Center, both organizations supporting the Right To Life.
She served her church and community in many ways including: Girl Scout Leader, Catholic Daughters, Hospice Volunteer, DuPage Family Shelter Services, Mary's Closet, Metropolitan Family Shelter resale shop (15 years), and Hawthron Garden Club. St. Petronille's parishioner for 70 years and received the Woman of the Year Award.
Jackie had many joys. She never missed sending greeting cards to friends or family members near and far. Christmas gatherings were especially dear to her; her record was filling 42 Christmas stockings. She loved flower arranging, gardening, and hosting friends and family into her home. People left with warm hearts and full stomachs. For Jackie, food equals love!
Jackie will be dearly missed; the mark she has left in the world is immeasurable. Special thanks to her caregiver Ela (moms angel on earth) and Lighthouse Hospice.
