Jacqueline “Jackie” Robertson, born on December 15, 1963, in Dayton, Ohio, departed this life unexpectedly on August 25, 2024, at her home in Florence, Kentucky. A beacon of warmth and steadfastness, Jackie was fiercely devoted to her family and friends. Her heart was an open book, and she lived simply—what you saw was truly what you got.
Throughout her life, Jackie faced numerous challenges, yet her resilience shone through as she embraced and overcame many of these difficulties with grace and strength. Her unwavering faith was the cornerstone of her being, a guiding light that illuminated her path and inspired those around her. For approximately 12 years, she was a quiet yet cherished member of Community Family Church in Independence, where she formed strong relationships with numerous fellow members. The connections she forged over the years were deeply important to her, and she carried a heavy heart for the time her health issues required her to miss church over the past couple years.
Jackie's love for singing brought her immense joy, particularly when it came to worship music at church, where her voice was a reflection of her spirit—pure and heartfelt. She also relished quiet evenings spent at home, she enjoyed watching movies, reading and talking on the phone to her loved ones. She enjoyed cooking, especially together with her sister, until her health prevented her from it. She loved her state of Kentucky and called it home for over 30 years.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Joyce (Willhoite) Robertson, 4 grandparents and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins. She leaves behind her loving sons, Michael Hamm and Daniel Hamm, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her family also includes her brother, William Robertson, and sister, Diana (Lorin) Shirdon. She was a beloved aunt to her nephews and niece, Lorin James II (wife Emily) Shirdon, Sarah Shirdon, and Nicholas Shirdon (wife Kylie), and a great aunt to Lorin Shirdon III. A host of other relatives and friends grieve her passing, each holding onto precious memories of the selfless, loving soul that was Jackie.
Visitation and memorial services will be held on September 5, 2024, at Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051. The visitation from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service (presided over by Associate Pastor Stephen Russ) starting at 12:00 p.m. to celebrate and honor a life that was a testament to love, faith, and unwavering support for those she cherished. A brief graveside service, presided over by her uncle Fred Napier (aunt Billie) will immediately follow at the Deerfield (Union Township) Cemetery on Shawhan Road, in South Lebanon, Ohio.
Jackie's absence leaves a profound void, yet her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her. As we gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman, we find comfort in the promise that her salvation promises, of resurrection in Christ and reunion with her family, in the memories she left behind in each of her loved ones hearts, and in the strength of her spirit that will forever live on in our hearts.
