Jacqueline Maria Saby, affectionately known as Jackie, left this world on September 24, 2025, at her home in Calgary, Alberta. Born on November 4, 1959, in the welcoming city of Sarnia, Ontario, Jackie's vibrant spirit and unwavering kindness touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Jackie embraced many different positions in financial services, demonstrating a remarkable dedication and work ethic. Her career not only reflected her professional skills but also her commitment to helping others navigate their financial journeys.
Jackie was more than her career; she was a vibrant soul full of life’s joys and passions. She loved birdwatching, relished the challenges of puzzles, and found joy in games. Her love for reading and strategic games such as Sudoku and Mahjong illustrated her sharp mind and curious spirit. A firm believer in engaging with the world around her, she also found time to follow politics and enjoyed bowling, showing her zest for life.
Jackie's world was deeply affected by the loss of her beloved husband, Dave, who was not only her partner but her rock. His passing left a profound void in her life, from which she struggled to recover. The warmth and strength of their partnership were a testament to the love they shared. Jackie was also preceded in death by her mother, Mary Nesbitt, her father, James Thomson and her sister-in-law Nancy Sue.
Jackie is survived by her sons Christopher Davis and Jonathan Davis (Monique), as well as her stepsons Jason Saby (Kathy) and Jonathan Saby (Kayla). She took great pride in her role as a grandmother to her beloved grandchildren: Conor, Nolani, Aiden, Dylann, Bret, Madison, and Riley, each of whom enriched her life in immeasurable ways.
She is also lovingly remembered by her stepfather Floyd Nesbitt, brothers David, Peter (Lorie), Michael and Robert and her sister Samantha (Chuck). Additionally, she leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Though Jackie's earthly journey has concluded, her vibrance and spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved her. A private family Celebration of Life in her honor is scheduled for October 17, 2025, at the Cochrane Country Funeral Home in Cochrane, Alberta.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, who are grateful for the time shared, the love given and light she brought into this world.
