She lived the majority of her life in Jersey City before moving to Succasunna and then finally Wharton to help with her beloved grandchildren. Jacqueline worked her entire career in the phone company, retiring as manager with Verizon.
She enjoyed baking and her Irish soda breads were among everyone's favorite She also like to crochet and collect teapots and loved her Ancestry.com.
She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene McGovern.
She is survived by her two children: Meghan Schaffert and her husband Jack along with her dear grandsons Jackie and Owen; son Brian McGovern and her brother John Balinski and his wife Joanne.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4:00 - 6:30 PM at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave, Rockaway, NJ 07866. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at the funeral home at 6:30 PM.
