Jacqueline Merritt-Fudge

Jacqueline Merritt-Fudge of Roscoe, IL departed this earthly life December 3, 2025. She was born January 1, 1957 in Monroe, Louisiana the daughter of Artilus and Vera Merritt. Jacqueline lived most of her life in Rockford coming from Louisiana. She married Stanley Fudge, February 10, 2016, he preceded her in death. Jacqueline was a member of First Lutheran, serving in the Food Service Ministry. She served as an Election Judge for the City of Rockford and Winnebago County. Jacqueline attended East High School, later to receive her G.E.D. and attended Rockford Career College.

Jacqueline leaves to cherish many loving memories, daughter April (Reginald) Cauthen; three sons, Arthur Merritt, Terrance Merritt and Napolean Trammell III; 18 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Ricky (Bridgett) Merrit, Steven Turner, Joey Turner and Artilus Turner Jr; sister Karolyn Turner; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Constance Strudivant and Daphanie Simon. She was predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter LaDeta Merritt-Layne; son, Antonio Merritt; and sister, Debra "Peaches" Merritt.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
