Jacqueline Mary Swanson

Jacqueline M. Swanson, 72, of Westville, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025. Jacqueline loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was born August 7, 1952 the daughter of Michael Tarkane and Mary Hocza in Gary, IN. On August 12th, 1970 she married the love of her life, Steven "Swanny" Swanson, in Portage Indiana, who survives her. Jacqueline is also survived by 2 children, Tammy (Michael) Micciche, of Valparaiso, IN and Nick (Allison) Swanson, of Westville, IN. She is also survived by her sisters Diane (Larry) Jacobs, of Portage, IN and Teresa (Rick) Ensign, of Valparaiso, and her brother, Michael (Julie) Tarkane, of Valparaiso. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Alice Tarkane. Jacqueline is survived by 4 grandchildren, Drew Swanson, Rocco Micciche, Cole Swanson, and Matteo Micciche. Visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church in Westville, IN on Monday, February 17th, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Monday at the United Methodist Church on Monday, February 17th, at 4:00 PM. Pastor Toby Guill will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Orak Shriners Hospital. Newhard Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
