Jacquelyn Thum Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home - Woodbridge on Mar. 20, 2025.
Jacquelyn "Jackie" Thum, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away at home on January 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 12, 1931, in Trenton, NJ. Jackie grew up in Elizabeth and later moved to Union before settling in Edison, where she and her husband Kenneth built a beautiful life together.
Jackie was married to the love of her life, Kenneth Thum, for an incredible 72 years before his passing. She was also predeceased by her beloved son, Glenn, and her great-grandson, Thomas John.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Gail and her husband Jerry Woerner, and Cheryl and her husband Richard Snell. She was a devoted grandmother to Jennifer and her husband Matt, Kyle and his wife Jackie, Kristin and her husband Tom, and Kenneth and his wife Cassidy. Her legacy continues through her adored great-grandchildren: Lainey, Carina, Finnigan, Kenny Jr., Dylan, Ryan, Charlotte, and Cienna. Of all the titles she held in life, "Nanny" was her favorite, and she wore it with love and pride. Also surviving her beloved brother John McGrath, his wife Cathy and family and her lifelong friend Elsbeth Gibbs.
Jackie was a dedicated homemaker for most of her life, always putting her family first. Later in life, she extended her kindness beyond her home by working at Golden Age Towers, assisting seniors with shopping and housekeeping. She had a famous sweet tooth, a love for The Young and the Restless and Wheel of Fortune. She always treasured her cherished summers down the shore at the family shore house.
Above all, Jackie lived for her family. Her warmth, love, and unwavering devotion will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
A celebration to honor Jackie's life will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Gerity & Chubenko Funeral Home, 411 Amboy Avenue, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
