Jaelyn Nichole Walker of Moorhead born on December 4, 2009, was tragically taken from our lives August 20, 2024, at the young age of 14.
Cherished and beloved daughter of Amanda Gullekson and Ryan Walker (Allison Thayer). Sister to Elijah, Jordan, and Sarah. Adored granddaughter of Jane Gullekson (Chris Meyer), Doug Gullekson (Dawn Kiser), Sonny & Vicki Foss. Niece to all her aunts and uncles, who loved her dearly.
Jae was our beautiful, blue eyed, fearless, and feisty girl who loved singing and, although she kept it to herself, she had a beautiful voice. Her quiet time was spent in her room after making herself her macaroni and tomato juice, which was her favorite. If you had the privilege of being her friend, she would let you join too as she loved her closest friends fiercely.
You’d never find Jae in anything but sweatpants and a sweatshirt, wrapped in one of her favorite blankets with a power fan blowing in her face. If it wasn’t comfy, she wasn’t having it.
She loved and cared deeply for animals, especially her cats - obsessively her cats. There was no one who adored and loved her more than her big brothers and little sister, whom she loved equally as much. There was nothing Jae loved more than snuggling in bed with her mama, favorite snacks in hand, or sitting in a fishing boat for hours with her dad.
Her favorite family time was lake time, filled with the whole family, all 40 something of us, especially her cousins. Her love of Anime gave her aspirations to travel and see the world. Jae was so proud of the choice to be baptized at Prairie Heights on May 22nd, 2022. She is now in the loving arms of Jesus.
Words cannot ever express how much Jaelyn meant to us. We will cherish every one of her 14 years. Every single memory we have with her will last us a lifetime. She is so loved, incredibly missed, and we will carry her in our hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her grandma, Trasi Walker; aunt, Sarah Gullekson; cousin, Brittney Buckley; and great-grandparents, Merle, Beverly, Dorothy, Tim, and Cheerio.
Please keep Jaelyn’s strong-willed spirit alive in the journey for #JusticeForJaelyn
