Jamal Deon Hooper was born July 17, 2001, to Sheree Duplessis and Kris Deon Hooper. He departed this life on February 24, 2024.
Jamal was raised by his Grandparents, Roger and Kattie Hooper, whom he affectionately called Grandma and Grandpa. He attended Cason Lane Elementary School, Rockvale Middle School and Blackman High School in Murfreesboro, TN.
He leaves behind two sons, Khyro (2 yr.) and Kodah Hooper (1 month), their mother, Hannah Whitehead; five siblings, Ceeyana and Julian Smith and Malik, Makiyla and Makayla Collins; his mother and father; grandparents, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jamal was just beginning his journey in life. All those that met him immediately were drawn to him. He had a light that burned brightest when he smiled at you. He was sweetness and comfort personified. You just loved to be around him. He was witty, funny, clever and nice. He was always helpful and willing to give a hand to anyone in need.
His greatest gift, fatherhood, was cut too short. He was just learning to be a father. Although he's no longer here physically, his sons and all his loved ones will continue to feel his warmth because his light will still shine on us all.
