James "Wyley" Adams of Mountainburg, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas after a lengthy and courageous battle with Stage 4 Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. Wyley displayed incredible strength, courage, and faith in God throughout his journey.
He possessed a love of carpentry and creating. He could take a few sticks and turn them into a beautiful work of art. As a master carpenter, he built and remodeled many homes in the Westlake, LA area.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. Known for his gentle kindness and humor, he touched the lives of so many.
James Wyley is survived by his wife, Janet Lynn (Roach) Adams of Mountainburg, AR; and two daughters, Marla Miller and husband Mark of DeQuincy, LA; and Holly Maughan and husband Tommy of Moss Bluff, LA. He is also survived by one sister, Jessica (Mims) Estillette and husband Chad of Lake Charles, LA; one sister-in-law, Hannah Adams of Barnes Creek, LA; and his beloved grandchildren, "Little" Mark Miller; and Emmalee and Olivia Maughan.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Cindy (Crosby) Adams of Westlake, LA; his father, John Henry Adams of Topsy, LA; his mother, Shirley Nix Adams Mims of Westlake, LA; his stepfather, Howard Dale Mims of Westlake, LA; and his brothers, Wayne Phelan Adams of Barnes Creek, LA; and Arthur "Ke-Ke" Adams of Westlake, LA.
Services are to be announced at a later time. Cremation is under the thoughtful direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
