James "Mike" Adams, 69, of Fair Play, SC, passed away unexpectedly on August 15, 2025, doing what he loved most-riding his bicycle. Mike was a passionate athlete, with an adventurous spirit that led him to enjoy cycling, hiking, snow skiing, water skiing, and boating throughout his life.

A devoted family man, Mike's love for his wife, children, and grandchildren knew no bounds. He was a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose dedication to his family and work left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were a true testament to his character. After 39.5 years of service, Mike retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad, where he had built a legacy of loyalty and hard work.

In his final act of generosity, Mike chose to donate his organs, turning this tragic loss into a gift of life for others. One of his organs was donated to a dear friend, embodying Mike's lifelong commitment to helping those around him.

Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Judith Kyle Adams; children, Brian and Karen Adams; and his cherished grandson, Brewer. He is also survived by his newly found family, Nancy Pearl Wilson (mother), along with six brothers: David Kinnard, Gary Wilson (Karen), Wade Wilson (Laura), Scott Wilson, and David Wilson (Tammy), as well as several nieces and nephews. Mike's furry companions, Amos and Jackpot, will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fannie Bell Adams, his uncle, Eugene Adams, and his biological father, Gene Wilson.

In honor of Mike's life and legacy, memorial donations may be made to The Tribble Center, 116 S Cove Road, Seneca, SC 29672. Mike's life was a true reflection of love, adventure, and selflessness, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
