James Napoleon Alexander was born to his parents, Barbara and Napoleon Alexander on March 3, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was raised with his siblings, Floyd, David, Donnie, Kerry, Patrick, Mark, John, Terry, Joseph, Deborah, Janey and Dena. From an early age, James developed a hard work ethic. He carried a newspaper route called the Black Dispatch which he took pride in. James was musically inclined, he learned how to play the violin and won many talent contest in his childhood. James was very active, he often played with the neighborhood kids, went camping with the boy scouts and truly embraced life. James’s family relocated to Denver, Colorado for better life opportunities.

He was educated through Denver Public Schools, he graduated from East High School and furthered his studies at the Community College of Denver.

A proud veteran, James served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1970, stationed at the U.S. Naval Station in San Francisco, California. During his service, he earned both the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Following his time in the military, James worked pursued several careers including the United States Postal Service where he worked as Postal Clerk. He also worked a Driver for the State of Colorado and carried out deliveries for Pharmaceutical companies. James was a great co-worker who was admired for his hard work. He developed relationships with his colleagues and hosted parties to root on the Denver Broncos.

James met a lovely young lady named Carol and on June 21, 1969 they were joined in holy matrimony at her parents' home in Denver, Colorado. Together, they built a family that includes their daughter, Tamla, and sons, Delonzo and Langston.

To know James was to love him. He was fun to be around and brought joy and laughter to those who knew him. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, often visiting Mr. A's, and hanging out with friends, including Billy Foster, Robin Hood, and Johnny Holmes. He also enjoyed a cold beverage that he was known to call a Bud.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Napoleon Alexander; and siblings, Floyd (Unidell), David, and Dena.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Carol Alexander, daughter, Tamla; sons, Delonzo and Langston; and siblings, Donnie, Kerry, Patrick, Mark, John, Terry, Joseph, Deborah and Janey (Wesley); beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

James leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and cherished memories that will be remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

The Alexander family would like to Give special thanks to the VA hospital, Kaiser Permanente, Acasa home care. In addition, grateful for the Emotional and support care Monaco congregation of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses.
