James Arthur Amblo, 90, son of Leonard and Leola Amblo of Charlotte, Vermont, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was a man whose presence left a lasting imprint on every life he touched. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Milazzo) Amblo; his children, Jessy Amblo, Kimberly (Amblo) Rheaume, James E. Amblo, and Mark Amblo; three grandchildren, Ediana (Amblo) Walker, Alexander Rheaume, and Zechariah Rheaume; and his great-grandson, Titus Rheaume. He is also survived by his sister, Suzanne Sawyer, and was predeceased by his brother, Charles Amblo, and his sister, Janet Landry.

Jim proudly served in the Army National Guard, where he embodied the values of duty and loyalty that would guide him throughout his life. He gave generously to his community as a 4-H leader and as a Boy Scout scoutmaster, encouraging young people to live with integrity and respect. Together with his first wife, Shirley, he opened his home and heart as a foster parent, giving children a safe and loving place to grow.

A lifelong learner and hard worker, Jim's career began with early jobs at the milk plant and Kennedy Brothers before he built a construction business of his own. More than the structures he created, it was the trust, care, and honesty he brought to each project that earned the respect of his clients and neighbors.

Known fondly as "the Horseman," Jim found his greatest joy in his horses. He bred and trained Arabians with patience and skill, and his craft was well recognized when he built a miniature replica of the famous Budweiser hitch. Also memorable was his gift for growing flowers-he rarely let a visitor leave without sending them off with a flower as they walked by, a simple act of kindness that reflected his generous spirit.

Jim's life was defined by faith, family, and love for the animals and land around him. He will be remembered for his gentle strength, his generosity, his quick smile, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and the countless lives he quietly touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Addison County Fair and Field Days, in the Children's Barn.

All who knew and loved Jim are welcome to gather, share memories, and honor his remarkable life. Coffee, doughnuts, and other sweet treats will be served following the service. Guests are invited to bring a favorite treat to share as we celebrate the man who gave so much and loved so well.
