James "Jim" Lloyd Anderson passed away on Friday October 3rd at the age of 86.
Jim is survived by his sister Dona Merg (late husband Dr. Fred Merg); his brothers Jonathan Anderson (wife Jan) and Dale Anderson; his children Robert "Bob" Anderson (wife Mary), William "Bill" Anderson (wife Alise), and Jennifer "Jen" Anderson; his grandchildren Erik (wife Josie), Brad (wife Ashley), Kirsten (husband Joe) - children of Bob; Alex and Jake - children of Bill; and Ely (wife Crysta) and Sam - children of Dan; and his great-grandchildren Braelynn and Rory - children of Erik, and Laken - child of Ely.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Marie Anderson (née Zimmerman), his son Daniel "Dan" James Anderson, and his parents Donald and Jane Anderson.
Jim was born on January 31, 1939. He served in the United States Army which included a deployment to Korea. His wedding ring bore a distinctive mark from a wrench accidentally dropped between battery terminals of an Army jeep - a story he fondly shared with his grandchildren over the years.
Jim and his wife Janet were longtime residents of Plainfield, Illinois. He was co-owner of Peterson Manufacturing, enjoyed watching the birds as they stopped by in the backyard, and had a passion for rebuilding classic cars. A proud member of the Buick Club of America, Jim passed down his love for restoring vintage vehicles to both his children and grandchildren.
