Tonight I wondered if Jim and Labera were still in Lexington so I Googled Jim only to find he had died a year ago. I am so sorry to know this. Many years ago, we were great friends. Jim, Labera, my now ex-wife and I were inseparable. We double dated when we were in Somerset and later after we had both married and moved to Lexington, we were even tighter. At one point my ex and I bought a trailer across the street from them. Jim went off to Vietnam and so did I. Jim was wounded there and so we had entirely different experiences. After Jim returned from Vietnam we seemed to not be the same and I never quite knew what separated us but I guess time and life. I have always had a special place in my heart for Jim and Labera and I am so saddened Jim is no longer on this earth. RIP my ole friend. Russ Farmer

LaBera, I was sorry to hear about his passing. Haven't seen you for years. Hope you are doing alright. I was unable to make the trip down for funeral.

Jim was one of two acquired "sons" my father had. Jim and Frank Yocum, along with their wives, included my parents in many activities and they took excellent care of Dad and Mom. I remain honored to be the "sister" of Jim and I consider him an example of how a person TRULY lives faith as that is exactly what he did.

Such a blessing to have known Jim. He helped a great deal with so many ministries and we were one of them. A truly generous and caring man. He will be missed. Much love and many prayers, Lebara.

I worked with Jim in the switch room back in the 70s. Jim was a great man and was always great to work with. I always respected him for the service and sacrifice he made in the military. I haven't seen Jim for several years, however looking at his obit it appears he continued his service to his fellowman. Prayers for his family.
