James H. Backous

James Backous Obituary

James H. Backous, 77, passed away at home on Sept 2nd, 2024.

He was born April 21, 1947, in Anderson to Donald and Virginia (Geier) Backous.

Jim enjoyed golfing, bowling, and racing and watching youngster’s race. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He retired from Delco Remy after 30 years of work.

He is survived by sister-in-law, Patricia (Sorg) Backous, Anderson and brother-in-law, Robert Haskett, Middletown, IN; five nieces and nephews, four grand nieces and nephews, five great nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends who will miss him terribly.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul Backous; sister, Elaine “Twig” Haskett; grandnephew, Jesse Backous and grandniece, Summer Backous.

Per Jim’s request there will be no service or visitation. Bozell Funeral Homes- Brown-Butz-Diedring Chapel is handling cremation.
