James Livingston Baird, a beloved husband and father passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on February 13, 1939, in Cheboygan, Michigan, he was a son of the late Robert and Winnie Baird.
James was proud Veteran of the United Stated Army. In 1963, James and Alice united in marriage, a partnership that began with Alice's unwavering commitment as she followed him to basic training in Alabama and welcomed their first child while he was overseas. Upon his return from service in Seoul, Korea, the family settled in Greenville, South Carolina, where James would go on to work at a dye plant in the textile industry, showcasing his dedication as a hard worker.
James lived a life dedicated to family, hard work, and the joys of simple pleasures, particularly spending time watching football and racing. He stepped into roles that showed great strength and courage as he loved each of his children and his wife immensely. His character, coupled with his resilience and dedication to his family, created a legacy that will be remembered fondly by those who knew him.
James will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he cherished, his wife, Alice Baird, son, John Baird and daughter, Melody Barid Henson.
In addition to his parents, James is reunited with his daughter, Tammy Baird; and his siblings.
