James Baker Obituary
James A. Baker, Jr., 83, passed away surrounded by family on June 10, 2024.
Jim was born on November 27, 1940 in Uniontown, PA to the late James A., Sr. & Anna Baker and was a 1959 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School. He retired after 36 years from Mactac, where he worked as a production supervisor. Jim was a member of the Army Reserves. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls. Jim loved being outdoors and was an avid golfer, fisherman, boater, hunter, & cornhole player. He enjoyed spending time at Hilton Head with his family.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister Janice Dean; brothers-in-law James & Bill McCarthy; father and mother-in-law Sam & Regina Justus. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Maureen; his children Jim Baker, Beth (Sam) Breger, Mike (Penny), Rebecca, & Amy (Justin) Conner; grandchildren Rachel (Brandon), Leah, Riley (Ben), Sam, Kaitlyn, James, Luke, Katherine (Ryan), Jack & Annie; great-grandchildren Liam & Emilia; sister Henrietta (Marv) Vanvoy; brother-in-law Joe (Dana) Dean; sister-in-law Rose Woods McCarthy; in-laws Danny (Pat) Justus & Nancy Harmon, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, & dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 15, from 12-2 pm, followed immediately by a funeral service at 2 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jim's name to The Michael J.
