Mark Slanta Obituary
Mark W. Slanta, 66, passed away on March 3, 2026.
Mark was born in Akron on April 24, 1959 to Walter & Martha Slanta and was a 1977 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's in Business Adminstration, before working for Goodyear for 5 years. Mark went into business with his father, opening the company Versitech in 1986. He attended Presentation of Our Lord Romanian Orthodox Church in Fairlawn. Mark was an avid golfer. He caddied as a kid and was very passionate about the game.
Mark was preceded in death by his father Walter. He is survived by his mother Martha Slanta; his children Brett & Matthew Slanta; his sisters Susan (Garen) Wisner & Nancy (Dave) Murray, along with a host of nieces & nephews.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, March 6, 11 am, with the family receiving friends beginning at 10 am at the Presentation of Our Lord Romanian Orthodox Church 3365 Ridgewood Rd. in Fairlawn. Interment will be at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery in Akron at 3:00 PM.
