STOW - Wade Andrew Christian, Jr., 89, passed away Friday, February 13, 2026, after a long illness. He will be missed by his beloved and grieving wife of 68 years, Carolyn.
Wade was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He gave of himself to his family in many ways that included his woodworking hobby of making furniture that he did for each one. His motto in life was to pay back kindnesses that had been bestowed upon him.
Wade was a 1955 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic, stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, 25th Infantry Division, from 1960-1962. From his experience as a medic, his family turned to him for minor problems. He was very skilled with a drill at relieving the pain of a smashed fingernail.
Wade leaves behind his wife, Carolyn (Tietz); his sons, Wade Andrew Christian, III (Pamela Eddy), and Eric S. Christian (Debbie Bond); his brother, George Christian; his grandchildren, Wade Andrew Christian, IV (Paytn McKeever), Eric N. Christian (Shannon Lucas), Amanda Ferro, Chelsea Mastrantoni (Nicholas), and Becky Salvaggio (Mike); seven great-grandchildren, Quinn Christian, Wade V. Christian, Alise Christian, Dominic Ferro, Giovanni Ferro, Hailey Salvaggio, and Ava Salvaggio, as well as close and helpful friends, John Bales, Ace, Jenny and Rob Molter.
He will be joining in his after life, his mother and father, Evelyn Lindsay and Wade Andrew Christian, Sr., as well as his sister, Ann Sunkin.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11 AM, at Bethany United Church of Christ, 1235 Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls, 44223.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 752 West Portage Trail, Akron, Ohio 44313.
