A Memorial Service will be held for James "Jimmy" Louis Behan, 75, on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, Shreveport, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Steve Gilley assisted by Brother Peyton Sparks.
Jimmy was born on April 25, 1947 to Louis and Lillie Behan in Alexandria, Louisiana and passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022 in Shreveport.
Jimmy was a resident of Shreveport. He was a Vietnam veteran that served in the US Marine Corp as a helicopter/medivac gunner. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed going to car shows. He took great pleasure in giving people rides in his hot rod. He loved his family dearly, especially the grandchildren, Kayley, Gage and Conrad. They were his greatest treasures. He also enjoyed his morning breakfast at Whataburger with his crew/family.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Lillie Behan and mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bill and Janice Williams. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Penny; daughters, Jennifer Wieclaw and fiance', Jeramie Peterson, and Brandi Chesnut and husband, James; sisters, Rhonda Masch and Rita Wakefield, his dog-ter, Coco Behan; and dearest friend, Mac Anderson and wife, Rhonda.
The family would like to express special thanks to the medical staff and EMTs that worked so hard to save Jimmy. They also want to give thanks to the Jewella Rd. Whataburger staff that brought joy to Jimmy each morning on his breakfast run.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to the Veterans Cemetery, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Hospital or the Shreveport Rescue Mission.

Hello, my husband, Jim Loecken from Melrose Minnesota, was a Marine crew chief in Vietnam with your husband. He sends his sympathy and said he was really friendly and just an easy going guy. So I just wanted to send this and offer my thoughts also. Mary Loecken
