On Friday, August 8, 2025, James Michael “Mike” Bentley passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his residence in Bartlesville, OK, age the age of 65.
Mike was born on May 9, 1960, in Panama City, FL, to James “Jim” Bentley and Lynda (McGill) Bentley. He grew up in Ozark, Alabama, graduating from high school there. Shortly after graduating, Mike joined the United States Air Force on November 28, 1978, in Kansas City, MO, serving until being discharged on April 23, 1981, from McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, KS.
On February 14, 1998, Mike married the love of his life, Jeannie “JeeJee” Dawn McDoulett in South Coffeyville, OK.
In his free time, Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether it was camping and fishing. Mike was an avid fan of Alabama Crimson Tide football and would cheer and watch them anytime he had the chance. Mike also loved spending time with his family and he will be missed by them very much.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents: James “Jim” and Lynda Bentley.
Those left to cherish the memory of Mike include his wife: JeeJee Bentley of Bartlesville, OK; his children: Chad Bentley and wife, Hannah of Oologah, OK, Von Hocker and husband, Zoe of Crestin, IA, Chance Bentley and wife, Kellie of Manhattan, KS, and Jayd Bentley of Collinsville, OK; his grandchildren: Zai Hocker, Tru Hocker, Arc Hocker, Joy Hocker, Conway Bentley, Ripp Bentley, Blayne Bentley, Augustine Bentley, Maverick Bentley, and baby Bentley; his sister: Catherine Bentley of Coffeyville, KS; along with one aunt, one uncle, and many friends.
A funeral service for Mike will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Chapel at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home in Bartlesville with Pastor Robert McDoulett officiating. Interment will follow at the Robbins Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas. Visitation will be at the funeral home 9AM—8PM, Friday, August 15, 2025, with family receiving guests from 6PM-8PM.
