James Elbert (JE) Blankenship, age 73, of Keavy, Ky passed away December 1, 2024 at Baptist Health Corbin.
He was born in Knox County on March 14, 1951 to the late Willie Blankenship and Lucy Messer Blankenship. He was a heavy equipment operator, and a Christian.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Myra Blankenship, of Keavy, Ky., two children; James Blankenship and Marian of Corbin, Ky., and Angela Harden and husband Richard of Galena, Ks. four sisters; Fleda Bernard, Barbara Hammerstein (Mike) all of Evansville, In., Jeanetta Mills (General) of Donniesville, Oh., and Wilma Broughton (Henry) of Corbin, Ky., four grandchildren; Anthony Jones, Ashley Lucero (Daniel), Terry Conley, Jasper Blankenship, two great grandchildren; Amaris Lucero, and Donatello Lucero, special friends, Lonnie Allen and Morgan Boggs, and a host of family and friends to mourn his passing.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by, daughter; Gina Jones, five sisters; Donna Faye York, Beatrice Blankenship, Ellen Mills, Opal Cavanaugh, and Rose Thomas, four brothers; Virgel Warren, Jeff Warren, Jim Tom Blankenship, and McArthur Blankenship.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024 at O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Smith officiating with burial following in Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy, Ky.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home.
