Sandra Denise Thacker, age 53, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky.
Sandra was a radiant light in the lives of those who knew her, illuminating their world with her kindness, compassion, and bubbly spirit. She was a cherished sister and a dear friend to many, leaving a void that can never be filled.
Sandra was a proud homemaker, creating a warm, loving environment for her family and friends. Sandra enjoyed the stimulating world of computer games and had an immense love for animals. Endowed with a kind spirit, her compassion knew no bounds, extending even to the smallest creatures.
Sandra was a loving daughter of the late William and Retha Claxton Thacker.
She is survived by her siblings, Judy Curtis (Russell Frazar), Michael Thacker, and William Walker Thacker II; niece, Rachael Marie Harris; nephews, William Walker Thacker III, Stephen Ray Thacker, Joel Thacker, Alex Thacker, and Christopher J. Curtis.
Visitation for Sandra Thacker will be held on Wednesday October 8, 2025, from 6 - 8 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 8 pm, with Pastor Kelly Bohannon officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to help the family with Sandra's arrangements. To make a donation, please call or stop by Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, or you may select the donate now icon to make your online donation. The family will be given a list of all who have helped them to honor Sandra's life.
